Haggling in China

A street merchant offered to sell a imitation lego piece, starting at 180 RMB, and going all the way down to 60RMB.
The internet price at taobao was 30 RMB.
After all, my former Korean professor was right. When haggling in China, don’t start from the 50% of the first suggested price. Have a thick face and start with the counter offer of 10%. I thought he was harsh, but no, he was totally right.
